At the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, Tata Motors unveiled its first 5-axle rigid truck.
Tata Motors has also displayed the Tata Indigo Manza diesel-electric hybrid car, Tata Magic Iris CNG, Tata Nano CNG and Tata Starbus Fuel Cell (hydrogen).
With a maximum payload of 25 tones, the commercial vehicle will get its power from a Cummins 6BT 5.9L engine (154 kW power at 2500 rpm) matted to a 9-speed gearbox.
The Tata LPT 3723 comes with 10R20 – 16 PR (Rims 7.50X20.00) tires and a minimum turning circle diameter of 21.9 meter making it easily maneuverable as compared to tractor-trailers.
The Tata LPT 3723 has a new-look cabin with stylized headlamps, new bumper, air deflectors at the sides and other features, which lend it a refreshing external appearance.
The air-conditioned cabin, ergonomic dashboard and stylish interior trims give drivers the comfort to cover longer distances at a stretch, the company said in a statement.
