After presenting us a few years ago the cheapest car in the world, the Nano, the Indians at Tata Motors have just launched their latest creation, the Sumo Gold, where the SUV is supposed to revolutionize the way we travel.
According to the Indian based automaker, Tata is launching the Sumo Gold with two engine options, the CR4 Turbo – BS4, in the form of a 2.956 cc unit which is developing 85 PS at 3.000 rpm and has a peak torque available between 1.000 and 2.000 rpm, with an average fuel consumption of 14.7 km / L, and the same displacement of 2.956 cc in the form of the Di Turbo BS3, generating a total output of 70 PS at 3.000 rpm and 225 Nm of torque between 1.600 and 2.000 rpm, with an average fuel consumption of 14.3 km / L.
“The Tata Sumo Gold is a result of extensive consumer studies and field tests. The product has been designed to fulfill various requirements, long-awaited by the new generation customers”, said the Tata Motors vice president, commercial, PCBU, R. Ramakrishnan.
The Indian based automaker says that the new Tata Sumo Gold is launched in four variants, the GX, the EX, the LX and the CX, all of them coming with a warranty of three years or 100.000 km from a starting price of Rs5.23 lakh.
The new Tata Sumo Gold comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, hydraulic power assistance, a “latest music system”, power windows, engine immobilizer with a key and a full featured instrument panel, among many other features “wrapped” in a boxy body.
