The 2016 Kia Optima mid-size sedan is currently being teased out by the car manufacturer as this should be introduced at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
The South Korean based automaker Kia is currently teasing out the 2016 Optima as the mid-size sedan will be officially presented to the public during the 2015 New York Auto Show, on the 1st of April. The two images which have been posted below are official sketches of the model but don’t expect the final version of it to be as dramatic as these because the car will be getting an evolutionary design. Don’t expect the pronounced wheel arches or the low roofline but take into consideration that this will still be a good alternative to the Skoda Superb, to the Volkswagen Passat or the Ford Mondeo.
Compared to its predecessor, the fourth generation of the Kia Optima will most likely grow in size and this will translate into more space in the cabin for the rear passengers at least and a more spacious trunk. Rumor has it that the 2016 Kia Optima will also give birth to a wagon version, the so-called SPORTSPACE, but this is not expected until 2016 or even 2017. The regular model will be getting an evolution of the 1.7 liter CRDi diesel in Europe while overseas this will share the engines with the Sonata, including the 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter turbocharged and the 2.4 liter naturally aspirated. More details on the model are limited at this time and will be announced in New York.
