Teaser reveals the rear end design of the 2018 Aston Martin DB11 Volante image

The British automaker has decided not to beat around the bush and the teaser images for the upcoming open top version of the DB11 – named as always the Volante – haven’t left anything to the imagination.

The Aston Martin DB11 Volante will be arriving as a 2018 model year so the prospective owners need to be patient – and until spring 2018 they can look at the proportions of the convertible. It appears the interest for Aston’s new generation DB11 was strong from the get go and now the company can go on with its plans – reveal the first body style modification – the Volante open top. In the teaser images the model looks ready to hit the dealerships, but the company says they still have development time on their hands. We can see the soft top has led to a completely redesigned back end – keeping the complex shape of the coupe but looking even flatter thanks to the revisions. The model has a sleek silhouette with the roof up so we’re pretty much enthused to seeing it go topless.

The front end hasn’t been revealed but we’re not expecting any styling modifications for the Volante, with the same being said about the innards. The biturbo 5.2-liter V12 should still have 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton meters) pound-feet of torque, with some revisions to the performance credentials due to the increased weight of the convertible.
