The first deliveries of the Tesla Model X are just around the corner as the company’s CEO has recently announced.
Elon Musk says that the 2016 Tesla Model X is getting closer and closer to its future customers and that the first deliveries of the crossover will begin in just 3 or 4 months. According to the Tesla Motors official, the final production version of the concept which was shown three years ago and “the Model X will be a better SUV than the Model S is a sedan”, said the CEO.
The Tesla Model X is a brand new all-electric SUV which will be coming with gullwing doors. This is expected to hit dealerships in the third quarter of this year and it should be powered by a dual-motor, sending power to the all-wheel drive system. This will be borrowed from the impressive Model S P85D and it will be capable of putting down an impressive 691 HP (515 kW) and 930 Nm (687 lb-ft) of torque. We are not sure on what the performance of the SUV will be, but the sedan is capable of reaching 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in just 3.2 seconds and it has a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The Tesla Model X will have no direct competitor at the time because the Audi Q6 will be introduced sometimes in 2018 and it will be followed by the similar BMW model at the end of the decade.
