Tesla Motors will soon develop a brand new model which will be taking on the BMW 3-Series and other rivals in the entry premium segment.
After Cadillac has created the ATS and Jaguar developing the new XE, as rivals for the BMW 3-Series, for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and for the Audi A4, time has come for yet another car manufacturer to prepare such a model. We are talking about Tesla Motors which is believed to prepare the so-called Model III in order to go head to head in the segment where the BMW 3-Series is in since decades ago.
The announcement hasn’t been made in a press release but it has been confirmed by the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, in an exclusive interview with the guys from Auto Express. The new Tesla Model III will be an electric sedan and it’s just a couple of years away from being officially unveiled. This will be less powerful than the Tesla Model S and also cheaper, as it should retail for approximately 35,000 USD in the United States. The model will come with a range of more than 320 km (200 miles). More details on the new vehicle will probably be announced close to its unveil.
