Toyota Motor Corp., on Wednesday announced that North American vehicle plants will continue operating on a normal production schedule the week of Dec. 12, including overtime.
In addition, the Japanese automaker will operate planned Saturday production at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Canada on Dec. 17.
With supply continuing to improve and healthy inventory levels at dealerships, Toyota is well positioned to achieve its fourth quarter sales objectives, the company said in a statement.
The company lost about 190,000 units of production globally from Oct. 10 through Nov. 19 because of the floods in Thailand. About 30 electrical parts are still in “critical” supply, it said.
Toyota followed Honda Motor Co. in withdrawing financial projections after the floods halted production at its Southeast Asian manufacturing base and disrupted output as far away as North America.
