The executive sedan is one hot commodity these days, with the latest spy videos practically catching it almost without any disguise and the automaker already revealing the interior layout and other goodies.
The Mercedes-Benz E Class (W213) is shaping up to be one of the worst kept since this is the one Mercedes that cabbies around the world would be driving, it’s of public interest to see it explained. The more expensive models use the S-Class inspired dual digital screen layout. The base entry will instead use analog dials for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system will be helped by a much smaller display.
The instrument cluster has a couple of tube-type round dials and in between them there’s a rather large 7-inch color display for more information. Next up is the infotainment display, which has an 8.4-inch diagonal. All of them have been housed in a glossy piano lacquer finished single frame. Expect the combo to make an appearance during the NAIAS in Detroit and later on possibly in Geneva during the motor show on board the station wagon T-Modell.
