The Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV looks bad as a coupe image

The Fiat Chrysler Automotive brand has been working to resurrect itself for years, but we’re finally seeing the end of the tunnel now with the introductions of the Giulia sedan and the Stelvio SUV.

While the Italian brand is clearly slow in releasing additional versions and body styles to the two models we’re pretty sure the Giulia will be derived as a station wagon at least for the European market. So we wouldn’t be too surprised if the Stelvio crossover would also come in different flavors – and the idea of seeing it as a coupe is really not out of the question. But while this render by one of the regulars of the automotive CGI world is spectacular and good looking, we’re pretty sure the Stelvio will never lose a couple of doors.

Today the term coupe when associated with sport utility vehicles is not used in its original denomination – as we clearly see how German automakers in particular call a “coupe” their slightly streamlined models such as the BMW X4 and X6, as well as Mercedes GLC Coupe and GLE Coupe. The digital artist seemingly transformed the Stelvio into a true coupe – but it the body style is going to appear in the future, we’re pretty sure all doors will remain in place.
