Everyone thought the presentation of the Bentley Continental Supersports represented the swan song for the current generation – since an all-new Continental GT is expected to show up any moment now.
But it turns out the Crewe-based manufacturer had other plans – which included the new Continental 24 special series. This Supersports-based limited edition is actually here to celebrate the brand’s participation in the Nürburgring 24 Hours for the third consecutive year. The 24 has a colorful Monaco Yellow and Black Crystal color mix coming from the track-only Continental GT3 for another delightful motorsport reference. The latter is going to measure its prowess at the endurance ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race on the demanding Nürburgring, with the Bentley Team ABT using no less than three cars.
The Continental 24 is exclusive to the European region, and can actually be optioned with an equally inconspicuous St James’ Red over Black Crystal finish or a subtler single-tone paint. The upgrades include 21-inch alloy wheels, carbon fiber door mirror caps, black body accents, and brake calipers. Moving inside, Bentley has prepared a wide range of carbon fiber components, while the seats are shod in Alcantara with diamond quilting and “Continental 24” lettering. The powertrain remains unchanged – the Supersports is the most powerful Bentley ever with W12 6.0-liter biturbo delivering 700 horsepower (522 kilowatts) and 750 pound-feet (1,017 Newton-meters) of torque.
