Kia Motor Europe is having a strong year in sales, with a year-on-year growth of almost 10 percent, and an 8.3 percent year-to date sales increase.

According to the latest data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, Kia Motors Europe has posted record third-quarter sales across Europe, with 95,102 vehicles sold from July to September this year, which represent year-on-year growth of 9.7 percent, up from 86,718 units for the same period last year. So far, 2015 has been Kia’s best ever year in terms of European deliveries, with 295,140 cars sold so far this year, an 8.3 percent rise compared to the 272,600 units from January to September 2014. The South-Korean automaker had already achieved sales of more than 200,000 in the first half of this year for the first time in the company’s history.

The most important market for Kia remains the US, with 21,960 units sold in the third-quarter, followed by Germany with 14,488 cars and 9,771 vehicles in Spain. “It’s very satisfying to see our European sales continue to grow in line with our plan for sustainable growth, and we remain on course for record full-year sales,” commented Michael Cole, Chief Operating Officer at Kia Motors Europe.

The brand’s European best-seller is still the Sportage SUV. In its fourth full-year of production, 25,308 models were sold across Europe from July to September, a 5.2 percent increase, bringing the total year-to-date sales to 81,310 units. The cee’d hatchback is the second most wanted Kia, with a 3.3 percent rise during October, to 7,227 units and 58,761 models have been registered across Europe so far this year.
