The first Audi TT RS was sold in the United States image

The North American Audi division has announced selling the first TT RS model in the US, Texas, to a veteran car driver Don Istook.

The Audi TT RS was brought to the United States after more than 15.000 fans signed a petition on Facebook, with Istook as one of them. Don Istook was one of the first drivers to race an Audi Quattro in the US in 1985 and he also drove Audi S4 models in the Motorola Cup, so, with the brand in his heart, he was the first American buyer of the TT RS.

“Having raced at almost every major track in the US and Canada, I’ve pushed the limits in many cars in my 34 years as a race driver. I like my street car to give me some of that thrill. With my new Audi TT RS, I not only get that thrill, but I also get that ‘race car’ sound”, said Don Istook.

The 2012 Audi TT RS is powered by a 2.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder TFSI direct-injection engine, which is developing 360 horsepower between 5.500 and 6.700 rpm, and has a maximum 343 lb-ft of torque between 1.650 and 5.400 rpm, connected to a six-speed manual transmission. The TT RS reaches a top speed of 174 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. All that power isn’t cheap and the 2012 TT RS can be bought at 56.850 US dollars.
