This year, famous german managzine AutoBild awarded 9 cars with the Golden Steering Wheel. The cars were tested at the Fiat / Pirelli site in Balocco, between Milan and Turin.
This track was built by Alfa Romeo as a test ground for their cars. Today it is used by various auto companies in Italy and will possibly be open for public use. It is available in many different combinations as is common with most test tracks.
In the category of small cars, the Golden Steering Wheel went to the VW Polo, in the compact model, the new Opel Astra has made the race.

New Renault Scénic has received the 2009 Golden Steering Wheel award in the MPV category. Patrick Pélata, Chief Operations Officer of Renault, received this award.
