We’re marking the date in our calendar – not only because Audi is presenting the new generation A8 in Barcelona but also because The Grand Tour is dropping its first teaser trailer for the second season.
Amazon’s upcoming Prime Day on July 11 – which is at least initially reserved to Amazon Prime members – is packing lots of previews, including one for the second season of The Grand Tour. According to the company, the teaser will bring fresh footage for the second season, and the clip will show “Jeremy, Richard and James in Mozambique, Switzerland and the U.K.” Mentioning the Switzerland location could mean the producers are including footage from Hammond’s crash – or we could also see him falling off a motorcycle in Mozambique.
The network also touts the The Grand Tour season 2 premiere “later this year” – the show was going to land in October, but given the seriousness of Hammond’s accident, it might have been postponed. Clarkson previously said his accident have impacted the production schedule – with rewrites of the program’s scripts and May taking over duties for production trips. All three were actually together driving a trio of supercars at the Hemberg Bergrennen hillclimb when the Hamster crashed the Rimac Concept One he was driving – Clarkson had a Lamborghini Aventador S while May was playing in a Honda NSX.
