The Italian Job, our own way – Top 3 Cars to use in Heists

With the new “heist of the century” in mind and with all media channels screaming about how approximately 50 million USD have been stolen, we have put together a “Top 3 Cars” we would use in a similar robbery.

The original story says that heavily armed robbers, disguised as policemen, have disappeared with 50 million USD worth of diamonds in one spectacular heist on the tarmac at the Brussels airport. The robbery took place at Zaventem airport, on Monday night, February 18, 2012, just before 19:00 GMT when they forced their way through the security barriers and towards a Swiss passenger aircraft which was ready to take off. The robbers were wearing police uniforms and they were carrying machine guns.

They managed to seize at least 120 packages filled with diamonds worth approximately 50 million USD. The robbers used a Mercedes-Benz van and this got us thinking, if you’re going to rob something, especially when the “prey” is worth a lot of money, you can at least do it in style. 2014 Range Rover

The new generation of the Ranger Rover has already been launched in several markets and the cheapest one can be bought from around 95,000 euros, but for a heist we recommend the top of the line version, equipped with a 5.0 liter V8 petrol engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The 2014 Range Rover is probably one of the best luxury SUVs money can buy, out there.

Nissan GT-R

The Nissan GT-R will leave your followers into a cloud of tire smoke. The model is available from under 100,000 euros and for the money you can get a 3.8 liter V6 engine under its hood, which is now producing a total output of 545 HP and it has a peak torque of 627 Nm. The Nissan GT-R is a rear-wheel drive sports car so we only recommend it if your driving skills are at a certain level.

Tesla Model S

The Tesla Model is the “new Toyota Prius” with celebrities but that doesn’t mean that you will grow old in it trying to go from 0 to 100 km/h. Unlike the previous loved car in Hollywood, the Tesla Model S is an electric luxury sedan, which can get you from A to B quite fast. If you want to do a “job” but you’re concerned about the environment, than this is the ride for you. We recommend the 420 HP (310 kW) and 600 Nm of torque (442 lb-ft) version, which can be bought from just over 100,000 USD.
