Production 2016 Acura / Honda NSX officially teased, going to Detroit image

The long awaited production version of the new Honda / Acura NSX has been teased and officially announced for the 2015 NAIAS, in Detroit.

A few years have passed since the successor of the iconic Acura / Honda NSX should have become available and in the meantime, the company has shown a concept version and spy photographers from across the globe have provided us with photos of camouflaged test mules. Now, for the first time ever, the car manufacturer has officially released the first teaser images with the final production version of the sports car, which will continue to be offered as the NSX.

The 2016 Honda NSX (2016 Acura NSX) has been designed by the Acura Design Studio in Torrance, California, and it has been developed by engineers led by the North American R&D operations, in Raymond, Ohio. It remains unknown exactly what engine will power it but rumors are stating that this will be a twin turbo V6, mid-mounted, which will be backed up by three electric motors, with one of them being incorporated into the dual clutch transmission. The new NSX will be 4WD as the internal combustion engine will power the rear wheels while the electric motors will give power to the front ones. The 2016 Acura NSX has been already sold out in the United Kingdom and it will come with a competitive price but offer performance similar to the Ferrari 458 Italia.
