While the small crossover is only days away from its official public debut, set on April 20 at the Beijing Motor Show in China, what it looks like an official image has leaked the web.
Whether it’s an accident or Hyundai is just using it to make some hype around the new model, the image looks legit – though you should still take the news with the usual pinch of salt.
The design is very common to the actual look of the new range of Hyundai products, with the ix25 looking like the small brother of the ix35 SUV. The changes include dropping the dual grille configuration and a more swept design for the headlights.
The model should come to the market soon after the April release at Beijing, with the new model assembled for local sales by the Beijing Hyundai joint venture in China.
In regards to the platform the small crossover is riding, it’s quite safe to say it shares most of the underpinnings with the yet to be announced second generation i20.
On the engine side, rumors say the duo will share them all – ranging from a 1.0-liter three-cylinder and a 1.25-liter four-cylinder for the petrol options and a 1.1-liter three-cylinder and 1.4-liter four-cylinder for the diesel lovers.
