The brand new McLaren P1 owned by Jenson Button has been spotted recently on the streets of Monaco.
Lewis Hamilton is apparently not the only Formula 1 driver to get his hands on a brand new McLaren P1 as he has been followed shortly by Jenson Button. The McLaren Honda driver’s new ride has been spotted recently on the streets of Monaco. The hypercar is almost a month old and it is coming with a monochrome dark gray paint, combined with the visible carbon fiber aero parts, the matte gray alloy wheels and the yellow brake calipers, contributing to the unique looks of this model.
Jenson Button is one of the few lucky owners of the McLaren P1 because the model has been only put together in 375 units. This has been officially presented at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere, and it is taking aim at the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder. It is the most exclusive ride of the two as the LaFerrari is produced in 499 units and the 918 Spyder in 918 units. The P1 has a 2-door coupe body style and a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout, taking power from the upgraded 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 and an electric motor. The total output stands at 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque, sent to the RWD through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the P1 needs just 2.8s and it can go up to 350 km/h (217 mph).
