BMW has announced the introduction of a new special edition of the M5, called the M5 Pure Metal.
If it’s not Japan, it’s definitely South Africa, when it comes to special editions of BMW vehicles and this new one makes no exception from this rule. The model in question has been called the BMW M5 Pure Metal Edition and it’s aimed exclusively towards the South African market. The model is bringing the BMW Individual Pure Metal Silver Metallic exterior finish, the Dark Aluminum Trace trim, the individually numbered plaque with the PURE METAL M5 badging, the Silverstone contrast stitching on the black Merino leather sports seats and several other goodies.
The new limited edition of the flagship 5-Series is also coming with a set of 20-inch M double spoke alloy wheels, contributing to its final looks. It has also been equipped with the Competition Package and the M Driver’s Package and it’s adding the M Carbon Ceramic Brakes, the Active M Differential and a sportier suspension system as well. The most important part of the car is found under its hood where the 4.4 liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine is resting. This is capable of putting down a total of 600 HP (441 kW) and a peak torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft), allowing the high-performance sedan to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h (189 mph). Prices for it will begin at R 1,948,000 or 131,000 euros and 20 units will be produced.
