The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is just around the corner as the 3-pointed star is currently releasing the first images with its body.
There isn’t such a big surprise the fact that Mercedes-Benz is currently working on a new generation of the E-Class, as spy photographers from across the Old Continent have managed to capture several prototypes on camera, revealing how this will be like. The model in question is expected to borrow some of the design features of the C-Class and S-Class, while the interior design will be inspired by the one of its brothers too and it will be, obviously, less luxurious than the one of the S-Class but “hotter” than the one of the C-Class.
The images posted below aren’t revealing that much and we can see the body of the new full-sized luxury cruiser. However, without the lighting units, without the bumpers, the front grille, the underbody components, the wheels and the interior design, we really don’t have much to say about it, except the fact that it looks just like before. Mercedes-Benz says that one of the biggest novelties will be the new array of straight-six turbodiesel engine, with twin- and quad-turbo configurations, along with a new 1.6l turbodiesel to replace the Renault-sourced unit. Chances are that the range-topping version, the E63 AMG, will be packing the same 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo from the AMG GT and C63 AMG. Mercedes-Benz will probably pull the wraps off the new E-Class sometimes next year, but an official announcement hasn’t been made at this point.
