And it’s not exactly ready to put out fires but it can definitely shine next to one.
A unique version of the Mercedes-AMG GT S has been introduced at Interschulz, the leading trade show of fire prevention, disaster relief, rescue and security. The model in question has been called the Mercedes-AMG GT S Fire Department Edition and it can be easily distinguished thanks to its unique shade, a custom white and red wrap, with the fluro yellow elements and the light bar installed onto its roof. This will be used as a promotional tool at future fire-related shows across Europe, so don’t expect to see it at a disaster near you soon.
Mercedes has officially pulled the wraps off the AMG GT back in 2014 and the model is also being produced since then too. This is considered to be the successor of the SLS AMG, despite being smaller, cheaper and less powerful. It is being offered with a 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, the same one used on the C63 AMG, and not only, which is getting two output choices, the AMG GT and the AMG GT S. The first one has 460 HP (340 kW) and 600 Nm (440 lb-ft) of torque, being able to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 4.0s and a top speed of 304 km/h (189 mph), while the other one has 503 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque, being capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8s and allowing it to achieve 310 km/h (190 mph).
