This is the new Kia Cee’d

The South Korean based automaker Kia has revealed the first official image with the future generation of the Cee’d model, ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, in March.

Even if we have about two months left until the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, which will open its gates in March, that didn’t stop Kia to reveal the first official image with the new generation of the Cee’d, and to be honest, we’re not mad at all, because the upcoming model looks quite appealing and it’s expected to be more “European”, except for its “exotic” Asian look. Kia is planning to take on its main European rivals like Volkswagen Opel or Renault, and the new generation of the Cee’d hatchback might just do the trick.

The Kia Cee’d is what closed the gap between the company and its C-segment European rivals, like the Opel Astra or the Volkswagen Golf, and now, when the new generation of the popular hatchback is almost here, the gap is closing even more. The upcoming Kia Cee’d is expected to receive the new 1.6 liter GDI turbo engine, which will be developing a total output of 201 horsepower, which will also be shared by the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, in order for the model to compete with the Golf GTI. The new Kia Cee’d will be launched at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and it will hit the European showrooms in mid-2012.
