The German based automaker Opel is planning to release a direct rival to the VW Passat Alltrack and the Audi A4 Allroad, in the form of the Insignia Sports Tourer Crossofour.
The Audi domination in the segment, with its A4 Allroad model, is close to an end, and even if the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack has been presented to the public in the 2011 autumn, a rival for the two is coming soon, as Opel is planning to battle the two models.
According to the guys over at autoblog.nl, the German based automaker Opel will soon release a direct rival to the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack and the Audi A4 Allroad, and the model will be named the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer Crossfour.
Even if the car manufacturer is keeping the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer Crossfour a secret until the model will be officially presented to the public, some details about it have already came to light.
Our source is also telling us that the upcoming model made by Opel will be powered by a 2.0 liter CDTI diesel engine, which is developing a total output of 165 horsepower, but customers will apparently be able to choose the more powerful 195 HP diesel unit, with its 400 Nm of torque.
