The brand new Zagato Maserati Mostro has been officially unveiled over the web as it will be making its public debut this weekend, at Lake Como.
Zagato has officially pulled the wraps off the so-called Maserati Mostro as the model in question will be officially presented to the public during the 2015th edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, in a world premiere. The vehicle has been designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Maserati and it has been inspired by the 1957 Maserati 450 S Coupe Zagato “Monster”, which has been put together at the request of Sir Stirling Moss, for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“The Mostro powered by Maserati is the latest creation of Zagato’s current Iconic decade, a new tradition for the atelier that began at the end of coachbuilder’s Neoclassical period (2000-2010) to celebrate the most iconic models of automotive history. Marking the delivery of the first customer car, Zagato will present the new Mostro as a world premiere at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este”, said the company in its official press release.
The new Zagato Maserati Mostro is getting a design which is slightly retro, with the curvaceous styling, along with the fixed rear wing, the long hood, the unique doors and several other tweaks. The one-off car is also coming with the carbon fiber body, a carbon fiber MonoCell, a tubular steel mid-structure, a front mid-mounted V8 engine, customizable engine management, a six-speed semi-automatic transmission and more. The vehicle will be produced in just 5 units but all of them have been sold out already.
