After going through a facelift back in 2014, the Volkswagen Scirocco will still be around for a few years but that doesn’t mean that we cannot imagine how the new generation will look like.
With the addition of the new Volkswagen Golf generation, using the MQB modular platform which gave birth to a lot of new models made under the Volkswagen Group, a new generation of the Scirocco is not high on the company’s priorities list, considering the fact that the model has received a facelift back in 2014. The images posted below are nothing more than simple renderings which have drawn inspiration from the looks of new vehicles made by Volkswagen and we have to admit that the product isn’t looking all that bad.
The upcoming Volkswagen Scirocco is rumored to be introduced in 2017 but we don’t rule out a 2018 introduction either. The vehicle should ride on the same MQB modular platform which means better handling, a wide engine lineup and low production costs, a true recipe for success. The platform should make it about 100 kg lighter compared to the current generation and that, combined with a lot of powerful engines, will make it more exciting than ever. The range-topping Scirocco R is believed to use the same petrol turbocharged engine as the Golf 7 R. More details on the new generation of the Volkswagen Scirocco are limited at this time and will most likely be announced once it will be ready for the market.
