If you’re a fan of the action cinema you may have seen or at least heard about the Transporter series, which is one reason why Jason Statham is famous and has a steady role in the Expendables series.
Anyways, looking at this ABT version of the VW T6 we understood this would be the perfect vehicle for the delivery guy. That’s because this model easily stands out from the crowd of modified cars that will make the trip to next week’s Geneva Motor Show to garnish ABT’s stand. And we’re counting it just as interesting as the anniversary RS6 Avant. The roster of upgrades that have been ticked for this T6 starts with the biturbodiesel 2.0-liter engine that has been lifted to a cool 235 horsepower (173 kilowatts) and 362 pound-feet (490 Newton meters) of torque. This is a subtle upgrade over the regular guise that packs 204 hp and 450 Nm and ABT can do the same with the less powerful single-turbo 150-hp version of the aforementioned engine that can be massaged to deliver 180 hp and 400 Nm (up from 340 Nm).
The design also shows we’re not talking about a standard guise T6, with ABT adding a front skirt and grille add-ons, bespoke side skirts, rear wing, and a rear skirt add-on with a muffler. The usual set of wheels has been ditched for the tuner’s 19- or 20-inch rims packing 255/40 R19 or 275/35 R20 Continental high-performance tires, respectively. And handling is assisted through the new coilover suspension and sportier springs. In the cabin there are built-in entrance lights and floor mats with “120 years” lettering – again marking the company’s anniversary.
