The Japanese automaker arguably makes one of the best-looking modern luxury coupes and the model has now graced SEMA with some stylish body modifications and a raft of technical enhancements.
Lexus has partnered with Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing to bring to SEMA the “world’s first customized LC 500” – which has been inspired by racers in its more aggressive body kit. Lexus also told us the development process for this customized LC actually started about 12 months before the LC’s introduction as a series produced model. What we have here are enhanced fender flares, larger side skirts, a rear ear wing, and prominent diffusers, while the bold stance is enhanced with a new set of 22-inch HRE wheels featuring a satin charcoal finish and shod in Pirelli P Zero Nero tires. Even the Brembo brake calipers have been color-coordinated with the fresh alloys.
Inside Lexus fitted a safety cage and Sparco seats clad in carbon fiber. The naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 has been customized by Club DSPORT – Magnus Ohlaker has 20-year experience in building engines for Formula 1 and IndyCar. Now the new displacement sits at 5.6 liters and the cylinder bore has been enlarged – lifting the output to 525 hp (391 kW), with Lexus claiming the technical capabilities of the engine actually make it capable of more than double the stock power of 471 hp.
