The German automaker has decided to simultaneously unveil the last batch of its supercar, dubbed – how else – Final Edition. The run will be limited to 350 units and will feature the same V8 6.3-liter engine from the standard SLS AMG GT.
A carbon fiber hood and front splitter, along with a redesigned front bumper and new brakes, distinguish this special edition. We also noticed the updated rear wing and carbon side mirror housings, while the light surrounds have been darkened.
Mercedes-AMG is presenting the SLS AMG GT FINAL EDITION alongside the new S 65 AMG simultaneously at the Los Angeles Auto Show and the Tokyo Motor Show (both from 20 November to 1 December 2013).
Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH says: “The two new AMG high-performance vehicles represent the spectacular next level for our exciting model array. The S 65 AMG stands for maximum exclusiveness and the unparalleled dynamism of a V12. With the SLS AMG GT FINAL EDITION we are showing an ultimate, particularly attractive variant of our super sports car.”
A replacement for the SLS has already been announced and will likely come out in 2014 wearing the “SLC” moniker. Codenamed “C190”, it will be smaller than the SLS and is expected to receive a newly developed V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo rated at 493 bhp (327 kW).
