Daihatsu has recently pulled the wraps off the Kopen Concept in Japan, during the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, in a premiere.
The brand new Daihatsu Kopen Concept has a good chance of hitting the production line in a few months and chances are that we will see such a model in the company’s dealerships in several parts of the Asian continent sometimes next year or in 2015, but it remains unknown for the moment whether the carmaker will introduce such a model in other parts of the world, like Europe, the United States or Australia.
The new Daihatsu Kopen Concept stands at 3,395 mm in length, 1,457 mm in width and 1,275 mm in height and it has removable body panels, made from resin, which can be easily replaced. Power to the Daihatsu Kopen Concept is being provided by a 660cc three-cylinder gasoline engine, which is mated to a CVT, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The model in question is riding on 17-inch alloy wheels and it has a folding metal roof. Additional details on the Daihatsu Kopen Concept are limited for the moment and will probably be announced over the following months.
