Here are the top 10 cars which achieved the highest sales in the US in June.
As expected the first place is taken by the F-Series pickups which managed to keep the first place in June too. Year-to-date the model sold 367, 486 units, with 124, 900 units more than the Silverado. Last month the F-Series sold 69,009 units, up 23.6%.
The second place was taken by the Chevrolet Silverado, but with the new 2014 Silverado to come soon the model’s best days are yet to come. The automaker relies on its expensive ad campaign for the Silverado aimed at attracting a wider range of customers. The Silverado sold 43,259 units in June, up 28.9% and 242,586 units year-to-date, up 24.7%.
On the third place is the Toyota Camry, the automaker’s best-selling model through June. Camry sales last month increased 11.7% to 35,870 units, but dropped 2.9% to 207,626 units in the first half of the year.
The fourth place was taken by the Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan, and analysts believe that the increased sales number have something to do with fleet sales. In June sales of the Cruze increased 73.2% to 32,871 units and 17.4% to 133,689 units.
On the fifth place is the Honda Accord, but its 49 mpg hybrid sibling which will hit the market soon is expected to attract even more customers. Accord’s June sales increased 9.5% to 31,677 units and 20.4% year-on-date to 186,860 units.
The sixth place is taken by the Honda Civic, with 29,724 units sold in June, up 8.1% and 158,704 units sold year-on-date, down 2.4%.
On the seventh place rests the Ram pickup, which managed to do better than the Ford and GM pickups. The model sold 29,644 units in June, up 23.8% and 170,319 units during the first half of the year, an increase of 22.9%.
The eighth place belongs to the Ford Escape, which brought the automaker substantial profit in the growing small-SUV market. Escape’s sales last month increased 0.7% to 28,694 units and 23.2% to 156,626 units from January to June.
The ninth place is reserved for the Nissan Altima, which continues the heavy sales with 26,904 units last month, up 23.3% and 167,787 units year-on-date, up 6.8%.
And the last place is taken by the Honda CR-V, surpassing the Focus, Corolla and other high-volume vehicles which usually took the tenth place. The model sold 26,572 units in June, up 14.1%, and 145,763 units in the first half of 2013, down 0.6%.
