Top Gear Season 14

Top Gear’s Season 14 was one of the best series, with a great Bolivia Special episode ( Episode 6 ). With a total number of 7 episodes, Top Gear Season 14 started on 15 November 2009 with an episode made in Romania, on the Transfagarasan route - one of the greatest routes in Romania.

The team also made some interesting scenes under the Romanian Parliament ( also called the Peoples House ).  Jeremy was in a Aston Martin DBS Volante, Richard in a Ferrari California and James in a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder. On the same episode May presents the 2009 BMW 760i witch in our opinion is a great car, but is under the Mercedes S Class.  (The comparation was between the 760i and the S63 AMG! Why not the 65AMG ??? ).

On the Top Gear Season 14 Episode 2 Jeremy, Richard and James are trying to build an electric car from 0. And they succeed to make it! However, Autocar UK, the automotive news magazine verdict was: “It’s impossible to regard the i-Thrust as a success.” ( the car was rated 1 out of 5 by the magazine’s writers). The battle on the airport track between an airport fire truck, a catering truck and a articulated shuttle bus is beginning on the Top Gear Season 14 Episode 4. The winner: Hammond’s airport fire truck. This sequence was filmed for series 13, but was delayed for unknown reasons.

Another battle between Germany’s greatest SUV’s is on the air! The players: BMW X5M and the Audi Q7 V12 Diesel. The winner in our opinion was the Audi, because is a diesel and runs like petrol -and is the most powerful diesel in the world!

On the Top Gear Season 14 Episode 5, Clarkson reviews the Noble M600, a car powered by a Volvo twin-turbocharged V8 engine,producing 630 bhp.  The 2,800 pound 1,250 kg M600 can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3 seconds flat and require only another 3 seconds to achieve 100 mph. It has over 1G of grip on the skid pad. Stig succeeded to beat the Enzo Ferrari, the Bugatti Veyron and the Pagani Zonda Roadster F on Top Gear’s test track.

Top Gear Season 14 Episode 6 was a special episode. The boys tackling a journey across Bolivia in a quest to reach the coast of Chile, on 3 old SUVs’ (less than £3,500 each) - A Range Rover, a Toyota Land Cruiser and a Suzuki.  What follows is their most extraordinary journey to date. Along the way, they encounter drug lords and feel the effects of altitude sickness as they negotiate the region’s roads, one of which is a notoriously dangerous 40-mile mountain pass dubbed El Camino de la Muerte (Death Road).

Top Gear Season 14 ended on 3 January 2010 with the Top Gear awards ceremony.

• Injury of the Year: Richard Hammond and James May driving the Porsche Panamera.
• Fastest Celebrity: Brian Johnson of AC/DC (who was credited as Brain Johnson on the trophy).
• Car of the Year: Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Balboni.
• Forklift Truck Driver of the Year: A forklift operator who crashed into a stockpile.
• Golden Cock Award: The Stig, for locking the keys of the Jaguar XK120 inside the car.
• Car of the Decade: Bugatti Veyron.

On the same episode, Richard Hammond reviews the £340,000 Lexus LFA and. Clarkson travel from Spain to Switzerland then to Australia for a BMW X6 review. In the end, he goes to the Barbados to see if the money spent on an X6 could be put to better use on a Carribean vacation (and concludes that it is)

May then reviews the Vauxhall Insignia VXR
