Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are back once again with a brand new episode of Top Gear’s Series 21. The three presenters of the famous TV show will bring us the testing of one of the hottest vehicles currently on the market, along with three new hot hatchbacks.
Top Gear’s Season 21 Episode 5 is bringing us the test of the Porsche 918 Spyder. The German hybrid supercar is being driven by Richard Hammond and it’s coming after Jeremy Clarkson tested one of its main rivals, the McLaren P1. The supercar has been officially unveiled during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in its final production form, and it will only be produced in 918 units. This is a two-seater mid-engined hybrid supercar, powered by a 4.6 liter V8 unit, which is backed up by two electric motors.
The total output produced stands at 887 HP (661 kW) and 1,275 Nm (940 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration takes just 2.6 seconds and top speed has been rated at approximately 345 km/h (214 mph). The average fuel consumption stands at an impressive 3.3 liters / 100 km (94 mpg UK / 78 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions stop at 79 g/km.
Besides the German hybrid supercar, the new Season 21 Episode 5 is also bringing us the road test of three of the best hot hatches currently available: the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, the BMW M135i and the new Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI. Guest star is American actor Aaron Paul, who is known for his roles in Big Love and Breaking Bad.
