BBC is said to have planned a comeback for Top Gear as the world famous car show should get an entirely new cast next spring.
After Jeremy Clarkson has messed things up and got sacked from Top Gear and his two co-presenters, James May and Richard Hammond quit, the world famous car show is said to make a comeback with an entirely new cast. According to the guys from The Sunday Express, Top Gear UK will return in spring 2016 with three new presenters.
Our source is stating that BBC is in advanced negotiations with Philip Glenister, the Life on Mars actor, with Guy Martin, a presenter from Channel 4 and with Jodie Kidd, from Classic Car Show. Former Top Gear producer, Andy Wilman, was said to use these three names in a discussion with Jay Kay from Jamiroquai, a few days back, while having lunch in Sussex. Rumor has it that the show will return in spring 2016, with Series 23.
The remaining three episodes from the current Season 22 will air apparently by the end of this year and they will not have any studio parts. It remains to be seen whether or not this rumor will materialize but bringing an entirely new cast to Top Gear will probably mean that the show will lose most of its fans. However, reinventing it and coming up with something new may also change its course completely and let’s not forget that we are still talking about a car show with a huge budget.
