Top Gear USA returns August 14 with 16-episode season
With Top Gear UK not returning until 2013, fans will have to settle for the US-version of the popular TV show, which will premiere its third series on August 14.
There will be six episodes this year and 10 more episodes in 2013, totaling 16 episodes. The news was confirmed by Top Gear USA co-presenter Rutledge Wood on his Twitter account. “So happy it’s out! #TopGear on@HistoryChannel returns Aug 14th 9pm! 6 New shows, then 10 more after new year! You guys will love them!”, wrote Wood on the popular microblogging website.
The presenter said nothing however about the content of the new series, but it’s sure hot sections such as Big Star Small Car and new performance tests will be the main attractions.
The show has a similar format like the BBC version. There are three main hosts, The Stig (a secret race driver) tests vehicles, and celebrities are invited for interviews and to drive vehicles around a test track.
Top Gear USA is hosted by comedian and car enthusiast Adam Ferrara, rally champion and drift racer Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood.
