Joining the already launched standard Panamera and the Turbo and E-Hybrid derivatives, the Turbo S model has completed the 2014 Panamera facelift lineup introduction.
The “new” Turbo S is now 20 hp (15 kW) more powerful than its predecessor, raising the horsepower number of the V8 4.8-liter twin-turbo to 570 hp (419 kW). Also, for the first time, an Executive version of the Panamera Turbo S is now available with a wheelbase that has been extended by 5.9 inches (15 cm). As a result, the Panamera Turbo S Executive offers significantly more space and comfort for the rear occupants.
For the power increase over the predecessor or the standard Trubo model, Porsche is now using two new turbochargers with larger compressors in the S model. The new compressors increase the airflow, and the chargers push more oxygen into the combustion chambers at high loads and speeds. In addition, the injection pressure has been increased by 20 to 140 bar. Together, both of these measures also enable higher component loads, which are absorbed by pistons made from a new aluminium alloy and specially coated piston rings.
The new top model in the Panamera model line will be celebrating its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show November 20-21, 2013. The range-topping Panamera needs 3.6 seconds until 60 mph (96 km/h) before topping out at 192 mph (309 km/h). Pricing in United States starts at 180,300 USD for the Turbo S and from 200,500 USD for the Turbo S Executive.
