Toyo Tires goes wild in time for SEMA image

There are tire manufacturers and then there are tire manufacturers, Toyo being in the latter category – and that means exactly what you think it means – they’re wild and eccentric.

Just take their SEMA booth for example – in November they’ll have lined up in Las Vegas vehicles such as a bespoke Tesla Model S, a Nissan GT-R dressed up to look like a Ford Mustang or a tube-frame Dodge Charger. And this is the preview of just a few of their cars that will be on display at SEMA. Unplugged Performance took care of the customized Tesla Model S – a bright orange P90D Ludicrous model with the aftermarket company’s aero package and suspension kit, as well as ultra-light forged wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes ST II tires.

Diety Motorsports has a 2014 McLaren MP4-12C packing a Liberty Walk widebody package, Techno Craft carbon race seats and a GT Haus exhaust, as well as an Air Ride suspension, with Rotiform wheels in Proxes T1R rubber. The “Muzilla” is a 1970 Mustang body that accommodates a 2010 Nissan GT-R with bespoke DPE rims with Proxes R888 tires. The most over the top example has to be the 1970 Dodge Charger with chopped roof and body for 3 inches (76 millimeters) on both sides, with the whole pack dropped over a full tube-frame chassis. Power comes from a 730 horsepower (545 kilowatts) NASCAR engine and it runs on Litespeed wheels with Proxes R888 rubber.
