The Japanese based automaker Toyota is planning to introduce its brand new Avanza model in Malaysia, after the vehicle has been presented in Indonesia.
According to the car manufacturer, the Toyota Avanza will be offered in four variants, the 1.3E, the 1.5E, the 1.5G and the 1.5S. Toyota says that the 1.5 liter engine in question is actually the 3SZ-VE, the same VVT unit powering the Perodua Alza, which is developing a total output 105 horsepower and has a peak torque of 136 Nm, being mated to a four-speed automatic transmission available only in E, G and range topping S trim levels.
The Toyota Avanza comes with ABS and EBD from G spec onwards, the G and the S get fog lamps and dual airbags while the 1.5E has only the driver’s airbag. All 1.5 versions come with 2-DIN head unit with MP3, WMA, USB and AUX/iPod compatibility, while the G and the S get steering audio buttons, six speakers and tilt steering. The S has a sportier bumper and radiator grille along with side skirts.
Toyota says that the new Avanza model has a starting price of RM63.864 for the entry-level 1.3E, RM71.864 for the 1.5E, RM76.590 for the 1.5G while the top of the line 1.5S has been priced at RM78.864.
