New renderings with the next generation of the Toyota Corolla have hit the web and they might provide us with a first glimpse into the final production version of the model.
The upcoming Toyota Corolla generation will be based on the Furia Concept and the model is rumored to be codenamed the E160. The future Toyota Corolla will probably get a 1.8 liter petrol engine under its hood, along with a 1.4 liter diesel, which are expected to be mated to either a CVT or to a six-speed manual transmission. The 2014 Toyota Corolla will be 45 mm wider and it will sit 40 mm closer to the ground than the outgoing version.
Additional details on the new generation of the Toyota Corolla are limited for the moment, but as a quick reminder, the Furia Concept has been officially unveiled more than a month ago, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The model has a large front grille, narrow taillights and some other tweaks. The Furia is 4,620 mm long (181,9 inch), 1,805 mm wide (71 inch) and 1,425 mm tall (56.1 inch), riding on a wheelbase of 2,700 mm (106.3 inch).
