Toyota has released the first details with the brand new GT 86 CS-R3 rally car, which will be seen in action next month and will go on sale soon, with customer deliveries beginning in early next year.
The Toyota GT 86 CS-R3 rally car is basically an evolved version of the regular sports car which has been developed by TMG (Toyota Motorsport GmbH) and it is coming with a MacPherson front and double wishbone rear suspension system, with an HJS racing exhaust and exhaust manifold, a limited slip differential, a lightweight R3 FIA homologated safety cage, 15-inch for gravel and 17-inch for tarman OZ wheels and more.
The racing car is taking its power from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder horizontally opposed boxer engine, which is now producing a total output of 240 – 250 HP (179 – 186 kW) thanks to the tweaked cam-lift and compression ratio and the modified engine software. The new Toyota GT 86 CS-R3 rally car will be seen in action next month, at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland and the first customer deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2015. Pricing will be similar to other R3 cars but no details have been announced on it.
