The Japanese based automaker Toyota has recently announced that the Fortuner is receiving a technical update for 2012, with a slight output increase of the 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine, in Thailand.
According to Toyota Motor Thailand, the Toyota Fortuner has received a technocal updated for the 2012 model and this includes a slight power increase of the 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine. Toyota says that the 1KD-FTV 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine is now developing a total output of 171 PS at 3,600 rpm and it has a peak torque of 360 Nm, available between 1,400 and 3,200 rpm. The previous output was 163 PS and 343 Nm of torque.
Besides the all four 3.0 liter models of the Toyota Fortuner, the 2.5G AT 2WD is now receiving the new five-speed automatic transmission in Thailand, so the 2.7 liter petrol unit is now the only version with the four-speed automatic transmission. The car manufacturer didn’t announce any extra details on the updated Toyota Fortuner in Thailand and it’s believed that the model will be launched in several markets by the end of the year on the Asian continent.
