The Japanese based automaker Toyota is keeping everyone in the automotive media focused on its new FT-86, after the future sports car, designed with Subaru, has leaked again, this time with fitted with the TRD Package, in a brochure, and we must admit it: that’s one good looking vehicle!
The new body kit of the Toyota FT-86 includes a front spoiler, revised side skirts and a rear diffuser, but if that isn’t enough for you there is also an adjustable suspension, high-performance braking system, sports exhaust system, strut tower brace and a bunch of new 18 inch alloy wheels.
Sadly there’s no official details on the Toyota FT-86 yet but the future sports car is expected to weigh 1.210 kg and it will be powered by the same 2.0 liter boxer engine as its “brother”, the Subaru BRZ, which will develop 197 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque (151 lb-ft).
The boxer engine will send power to the rear wheels most likely through a manual transmission, with an automatic probably being offered as an option, but the unit is expected to be upgraded with a turbo version which is expected to generate 300 HP.
The Toyota FT-86 is expected to be officially presented at the Tokyo Motor Show in December.
