The Japanese based automaker Toyota has recently announced its plans to introduce the popular GT 86 sports car to China too, where it should arrive over the following months.
After it was launched in most markets across the globe last year, the Toyota GT 86 is now getting ready to take advantage on one of the biggest car markets in the world, China. The automaker has recently confirmed the launch of the GT 86 in the Asian country, where its future customers will have to pay CNY269,000 (43,250 USD) before they will be able to take their new rides home. This is the price of the entry-level manual version.
Toyota didn’t say anything more on the Chinese version of the Toyota GT 86 but as a quick reminder, the popular sports car is coming with the same engine as the Subaru BRZ or the Scion FR-S, the Subaru made boxer 2.0 liter four-cylinder unit, equipped with Toyota’s D-4S direct injection technology. The engine is producing a total output of 200 HP at 7,000 rpm) and it has a peak torque of 205 Nm (151 lb-ft), available at 6,600 rpm, sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The Toyota GT 86 is priced at 29,990 euros in Europe.
