Toyota has released a first teaser image with the GT 86 Convertible Concept, ahead of the model’s public debut scheduled for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.
Rumors on Toyota developing a drop-top version of the popular GT 86 have been around for an year and now it seems that the model is one step closer to hitting the production line. The very first official teaser image with the Toyota GT 86 Convertible, in its concept form, has been recently released by the Japanese based automaker. The model will be officially presented to the public next month, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Details on the model are limited for the moment but if it will indeed catch the production line, the Toyota GT 86 will most likely get the same Subaru sourced 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine under its hood, with the Toyota D-4S direct injection system, which is producing a total output of 187 HP at 7,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 205 Nm (151 lb-ft), available at 6,600 rpm. The unit will be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. More details on the Toyota GT 86 Convertible Concept will be announced in Geneva.
