The Japanese based automaker Toyota has recently announced its plans to introduce the GT 86 Griffon this weekend, during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
One of the hottest versions of the Toyota GT 86, the Griffon, will make its UK debut this weekend, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The model in question has a TRD mechanical differential, replacing the standard Torsen unit, a final drive ratio shortened to 4.8:1, a new coilover suspension system, a new oil cooler, a TRD monoblock and some other tweaks, which will make it a dream car for those of you owning the standard version.
Modifications won’t stop here because the GT 86 TRD Griffon Project has received a bucket seat, a MOMO steering wheel, oil pressure, oil temperature and water temperature gauges, a push start switch and a new shift knob. The vehicle weighs 227 kg (500 lbs) less than the standard car at a total of 1,034 kg (2,279 lbs) thanks to carbon fiber doors, hood, boot lid, roof and rear wing. The front wing, bumpers and diffuser are made from CFRP. The model stands on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan tires.
