The Japanese based automaker Toyota and its TRD (Toyota Racing Development) wing have recently released a first teaser of the GT 86 TRD Griffon concept for the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon.
According to the car manufacturer, the Toyota GT 86 TRD Griffon Concept will be officially presented to the public during the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon and the model has been tested not too long ago on the Tsukuba Circuit, where it managed to do a lap in 1:01:872, compared with the Ferrari 458 Italia’s time of 1:02:24. Toyota didn’t announce any more details on the GT 86 TRD Griffon Concept but the model will be highlighted on the 11th of January, during the Japanese automotive event.
As a quick reminder, the standard version of the Toyota GT 86 is powered by the same engine as its “sister”, the Subaru BRZ, the 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, with the company’s D-4S direct injection technology, which is sending the 187 horsepower (7,000 rpm) and the 205 Nm of torque (151 lb-ft at 6,600 rpm) to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The GT 86 is 4,240 mm long, 1,285 mm tall and 2,570 mm wide. In Europe, prices for the Toyota GT 86 start at 29,990 euros.
