New renderings with the so-called Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake have recently made their way onto the web and we must admit that this seems one hot ride.
The Japanese based automaker Toyota promised new body styles of the popular GT86 sports car but, until now, none have hit the production line but if the company decides to put one or two onto the assembly line, our suggestion would definitely be the convertible and the shooting brake. The images posted below represent renderings of the Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake and they have been signed by X-Tomi Design (FB).
If it will indeed hit the production line sometime, than the Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake will share the same engine with the regular two-door coupe, with the Scion FR-S and the Subaru BRZ. We’re talking about the 2.0 liter naturally aspirated boxer engine, signed by Subaru and fitted with the Toyota D-4S direct injection, which is good for 200 HP. Power is being sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The Toyota GT86, in its current form, has been in production since 2012 and it’s being assembled in Ota, Gunma, Japan.
