New details on the 2014 Toyota Verso have been recently released and it seems that the model will be getting a BMW-sourced diesel engine.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the 2014 Toyota Verso will be getting a 1.6 liter diesel engine, signed by BMW, which will include some engine mounts, redesigned electrical interfaces, newly-developed dual-mass flywheel and others. The unit is able to produce a total output of 110 HP (82 kW) and it has a peak torque of 270 Nm (199 lb-ft), which are being sent to the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 0 to 100 km/h sprint in the 2014 Toyota Verso, equipped with the BMW-sourced engine, takes 12.7 seconds and top speed stands at 185 km/h (115 mph). The average fuel consumption stands at 4.5 L / 100 km (62.8 mpg UK / 52.2 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions stop at 119 g/km, thanks to the stop/start system. Toyota also says that besides the new engine, the 2014 Verso is also getting a new Trend version, with the blacked out C-pillars, privacy glass, fog lights, different 17-inch alloy wheels, rearview camera, parking sensors and GPS navigation system. No pricing details have been announced yet.
