Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile (TPCA), PSA Peugeot Citroen and Toyota Motor Corporation joint-venture from Kolin, Czech Republic, held a ceremony in Prague to mark its cumulative production of 2,000,000 vehicles.

In March 2002 TPCA was established and three years later, in February 2005, started production of the Peugeot 107, the Citroen C1 and the Toyota Aygo. It took the company 7 years and a month to reach the production milestone.

Important persons such as Kolin City Mayor Vit Rakusan, CzechInvest Director for Investments Radek Soltys, TPCA President Satoshi Tachihara and TPCA Executive Vice President Patrice Le Guyader attended the ceremony. The car with the number 2,000,000, a Peugeot 107, was presented to Mr. Rakusan as an expression of TPCA’s gratitude to the Czech community for its significant support.

“I would like to thank all our stakeholders in the Czech Republic, including the government, local communities, our dealers, our suppliers, our employees, and last but certainly not least our customers for their strong support in leading us to this day. By bringing together all the continuous support and cooperation from our parent companies, TPCA aims to continue producing ever-better cars and contributing to the Czech Republic economy and to the Kolin region,” declared Mr. Tachihara.
