Toyota has announced the very first details on the European engine lineup for the new RAV4 SUV.
A choice of three engines will be offered on the new Toyota RAV4 on the Old Continent once the model will go on sale next year and these will include the 2.0 liter D-4D diesel, details of which haven’t been announced yet, along with two engines carried over with minimum tweaks from the current version. These include the 2.0 liter D-4D diesel, producing a total output of 148 BHP (110 kW), along with the 2.0 liter Valvematic petrol, generating 156 BHP (116 kW).
Toyota says that in the UK, the 2.0 D-4D Diesel will get front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission, while the 2.0 liter petrol will receive all-wheel drive and a CVT and the 2.2 D-4D diesel will be mated to both 6-speed manual and automatic, receiving a choice of either FWD or AWD configurations. Prices for the new Toyota RAV4 will start at 22,595 GBP for the 2.0 D-4D base entry-level version while for the top of the line 2.2 D-4D AWD will reach 29,295 GBP.
Three trim levels will be available for the model, the Active, with Bluetooth, all-electric windows, AC and 17-inch alloy wheels, the Icon, with power folding mirrors, auto-dimming rearview mirror, powered tailgate, dual-zone AC, Toyota Touch multimedia, rearview camera and more and the Invincible ill add leather upholstery, heated front seats, Smart entry and start, roof rails and rear parking sensors. The new Toyota RAV4 will be available for order in March 2013 in the United Kingdom.
