Toyota SpongeBob Highlander Tanked Edition unveiled at SEMA image

The new Toyota SpongeBob Highlander Tanked Edition has been officially presented to the public, in a premiere, during the 2013 SEMA Motor Show.

According to the Japanese based automaker, the brand new Toyota SpongeBob Highlander Tanked Edition is basically a mobile aquarium. The model in question has been equipped with a 3,028 liter (800 gallon) tank and it has been designed by Wayde King and Brett Raymer, the Tanked stars.

“Brett and I love the challenge of designing aquariums in every shape and size and welcomed the opportunity to bring living art like this to SEMA. The teams at Toyota and Nickelodeon gave us great platforms in the Highlander and SpongeBob SquarePants to create something fun and inspiring for fans”, said Wayde King.

The brand new Toyota SpongeBob Highlander Tanked Edition is holding about “115 individual fish”, and it includes the pilot fish, clownfish, Fiji foxface, flame angel, starfish or squirrelfish. The tank has been fitted behind the front seats and it has a custom filtration system which is using a UV filter, a temperature regulator, a sterilizer and an overflow system. The process of building this one-off Toyota Highlander will be aired sometime in March, as an episode of Tanked.
